Why review if you haven't tried it? I am not usually a mix user either, but you have no basis for your score. So try your sub, state that in your review, and score instead of just to be hard and bring the scores down. Waste of our time to read inaccurate scores, too.

Everyone loved these last year and I've had requests to make them again this year. They froze well in a single layer, but were a little dryer than the batch we ate right away.

Hey Joysimon lighten up! If you don't want to use it don't - nobody is forcing you to make these recipes.........I think you need a "karma" class instead of a "cooking" class.

Why BISQUICK? I will use no "prepared foods" in my baking and a recipe with anything like that NEVER makes it to my recipe file. Give me the ingredients so I know what I have in my baking--flour, baking powder/soda, etc. Why spend money on BISQUICK when one cup of BISQUICK can be substituted by a mix of 1 cup flour, 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and I tablespoon of melted butter. I MIGHT try the recipe with the substitution. No chemicals or hydrogenated fat in the substitution!

These cookies are great and they just get better with time. I made a batch on Sunday and they are even more delicious today (Wednesday)! Great for cookies exchanges this time of year!

I made this recipe as a gift for some friends last Christmas, but don't think I would make them again. They're somewhat labor intensive and I wasn't a fan of the base cookie. The caramel and chocolate toppings were great, so I would suggest just substituting a more standard peanut butter cookie recipe instead.

I used the Bisquick substitute & instead of peanuts used pecans. These cookies were delicious and had great presentation for my cookie exchange. I flatted the cookies with a solid metal spatula instead of my hand to make them more uniform. These will definitely be made each holiday.

Havent made this recipe yet, BUT...peanut butter cookie dough base?! I am excited to make this recipe and will use a pecan sables ( like pecan shortbread dough) recipe as the base instead so they are more true to the flavor of the real Turtles. Also, I may adapt them to being bars for speedier prep. Bon apptite everyone!

Haven't tried this yet. Love turtles, but not peanut butter. What would be a good substitute?

These were the best cookies I have ever had!! Needless to say they didn't last long! Followed the recipe exactly except for using a Bisquick Substitute recipe. 1 cup flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon Crisco. Mix dry ingredients together, then using a pastry knife cut the Crisco into the mix. Makes 1 cup Bisquick equivalent.

I liked the presentation of this, but like others, didn't care for the bisquick. So I made this just like the recipie exept I just used a peanut butter cookie base. I did what is considered "traditional" when you think turtles, put pecan halves under the cookies so they resemble the little guy. Great. I will make these again for the flavor and the wow factor.

I added these to my annual Christmas cookie platter and everyone LOVED them! I cooked them to be a little more crisp than I would have liked but no one seemed to care. I had already made 7 kinds of cookies so by the time I made these I was a little burned out with the amount of time they took but if I had made them alone I am sure it wouldn't have bothered me! I did make them a little larger than the recipe recommended and the larger cookie was probably overkill so leave it as is.

I made this for the first time for Christmas this year. What a delicious cookie. I've only had two cookie recipes I make annually for for Christmas. I think this recipe may make it three.

Worthy of a special occasion. Very rich and sweet, almost like a candy not a cookie. The cookie is a little dense since using the shortcut of using Bisquick (I used lighter version Heart Smart). I wish this recipe had raw ingredients, it would make the recipe even better. I ran alittle short on caramel according to the recipe. Overall still a 4 star and very good. Quick to make.
