No Ice Cream Machine Required: 50 + Sweet Treat Recipes (1)

If I am honest, summer is not my favorite time of the year. I HATE heat and I despise the sun. Gardening makes summertime survivable. So does Ice Cream and other frozen sweets! As I go farther in my trek towards Real Food and Healthy Living, I have learned that homemade foods, including desserts, are always better for you than the pre-made stuff at the grocery store. Plus, you can be creative!

The problem I soon discovered while searching through Ice Cream recipes in Internet-land is that many of them look SUPER good, but alas, you need an ice cream maker. Since I prefer a life with as few objects as possible (a quest toward minimalism, I suppose), I refuse to buy an ice cream machine. I soon found myself keeping a list of recipes that do NOT use an ice cream machine, and I thought to myself the other day: “Hey! I wonder if other people would like to see my list…”

This is my list of over 50 Ice cream-type desserts that do NOT require an ice cream machine. I did not add popsicles because I have always considered them a different category. This list DOES contain recipes including: ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, granitas, and gelato. This list also contains Real food recipes, Paleo, vegan, dairy free, sugar free, and grain free recipes.

Please note: I try very hard to focus on as healthy-as-possible frozen sweet treats. However, my eating philosophy is the 80-20 rule, as in, 80% of the time, I eat as healthy as possible, and 20% of the time, I stop obsessing about things. With that in mind, MOST of these recipes avoid sugar, but SOME recipes include it. If you avoid all sugar, either ignore those recipes, or make a healthier version with honey or maple syrup.
