League playoffs are underway, with lots of Courier/Intell teams competing for titles in the Suburban One and Philadelphia Catholic leagues, the AACA, BAL and Friends School League.

Suburban One League Tournament
Championship, Tuesday, February 13
No. 3 Neshaminy 35, No. 1 Upper Dublin 22
Neshaminy knocked off top-seeded Upper Dublin to win the Suburban One League Championship for the first time in school history. Neshaminy led from start to finish against the short-handed Cardinals. Reese Zemitis scored 10 points in the first quarter, with four assists from Lola Ibarrondo, to give Neshaminy a 13-6 lead after one period. After a slow second quarter, Ibarrondo came out firing in the third, hit a pair of 3-pointers, as well as a layup after a steal, putting Neshaminy up 26-20 to start the fourth quarter. Alena Cofield's defense frustrated UD and created turnovers. See photos from the game and ensuing celebration.
Zemitis finished with a game-high 18 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, while Ibarrondo tallied 10 points, four assists and four steals. Amy Nho led the Cardinals with nine points.
Semifinals, February 10
No. 3 Neshaminy 54, No. 2 North Penn 36
It was a classic Reese Zemitis performance. The senior and all-time leading scorer for Neshaminy poured in 26 points, accounting for all five of the team’s first-quarter points, in the semifinal win. It wasn’t easy, however. Neshaminy trailed 11-5 after the first quarter to North Penn, a team it had lost to in early January. Things changed in the second quarter, when Neshaminy’s 21-4 run shifted the momentum. Ava Irizarry’s defense was a main factor in the second quarter for Neshaminy, and she also sank two 3-pointers, finishing with 10 points. Lola Ibarrondo also had 10 points, along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Caleigh Sperling led the Knights with 13 points.
No. 1 Upper Dublin 40, No. 5 CB East 34
Anna Barry had 14 points for CB East, but the Patriots were edged by top-seeded Upper Dublin. Amy Ngo led the Cardinals with 14 points.
Quarterfinals, February 9
No. 1 Upper Dublin 61, No. 8 Bensalem 41
Freshman Tamia Clark stepped up in her first playoff game, scoring 21 points for Upper Dublin. The Cardinals lost one of their top players, sophom*ore Megan Ngo, to a knee injury during the first quarter. Amber Howard led the Owls with 16 points, while Ariana Jenkins had 11 points.
No. 2 North Penn 48, No. 7 Pennsbury 41
Caleigh Sperling went 8-for-8 from the free throw line and scored the go-ahead 3-pointer to seal the win for the Knights. She finished with a team-high 15 points, while Olivia Stone had 12 and freshman Lily Brown contributed 11 points. For Pennsbury, Sofia Vitucci scored half of the Falcons’ 42 points with a game-high 21.
No. 3 Neshaminy 63, No. 6 Abington 45
Lola Ibarrondo had one of her best games of the season, scoring a season-high 21 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, along with five assists and two blocks, to lead Neshaminy. Freshman Ashlynn Duffy sank a trio of three-pointers and dished three assists in an impressive effort. Piper McGinty and Aniyah Williams had nine points apiece for Abington.
No. 5 Central Bucks East 55, No. 4 Lower Moreland 39
Four Patriots scored in double figures, led by Anna Barry’s 15 points, with Natalie Berndt, Sydney Ralph and Jess Lockwood each contributing 12 points.
Athletic Association of Catholic Academies
Championship,Wednesday, February14
No. 2 Gwynedd Mercy 46, No. 1 Villa Maria 25
Emilia Coleman did it again. The super sophom*ore scored 23 points in the AACA championship game, nearly outscoring Villa Maria herself. Bailey Balkir chipped in 11 points. Coleman was named the AACA All-League MVP, while Balkir earned first-team honors.
Semifinal, February 10
No. 2 Gwynedd Mercy 53, No. 3 Villa Joseph Marie 39
Sophom*ore Emilia Coleman was dealing in the AACA semifinal, pouring in 23 points to lead the Monarchs. Megan McDonnell scored 13 points and Bailey Balkir had 11 to help GMA advance to the AACA title game for the fourth straight season. Ava Gumienny had 17 points for the Jems.

Semifinals, Feb. 20 at St. Joseph’s University
Cardinal O'Hara vs. Archbishop Carroll, 6:00 p.m.
Archbishop Wood vs. Nazareth Academy, 7:30 p.m.
Quarterfinals, Thursday, February 15
No. 1 Archbishop Wood 74, No. 8 Conwell-Egan 30
Emily Knouse led the way with 19 points as the Vikings sprinted past Conwell-Egan to advance to the semifinals. Lauren Greer had 12 points for the Vikings, while Ava Renninger and Makayla Finnegan scored 10 apiece.
No. 3 Archbishop Carroll 35, No. 6 Lansdale Catholic 33
The Crusaders hopes of making a repeat trip to the PCL championship game were dashed when Carroll freshman Abigail McFillin scored the game-winner on a buzzer-beater. The Crusaders led early but Carroll was able to tie things up on their home court. Grace McDonough led LC with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Bicentennial Athletic League
Semifinals, Thursday, February 15
No. 1 Renaissance Academy 44, No. 4 Faith Christian 22: The Lions will resume play in the District One Class 1A semifinals on Tuesday, when they host Delco Christian. Delco won their regular season meeting 45-31.
