Assassin-for-hire Elektra (Jennifer Garner) works for a mysterious international organization known as the Hand, for which she kills her targets without question, and in a conspicuous red bustier, no less. When the Hand asks her to kill Mark Miller (Goran Visnjic) and his daughter, Abby (Kirsten Prout), while they're on holiday, Elektra's conscience kicks in and she decides to protect her targets rather than eliminate them. Of course, the Hand isn't so willing to let them off the hook.

Critics Consensus

Jennifer Garner inhabits her role with earnest gusto, but Elektra's tone deaf script is too self-serious and bereft of intelligent dialogue to provide engaging thrills.

Audience Member Movie had almost no action and dragged on. Liked her alot better in the Deadpool and wolverine movie. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review The G I really enjoy this movie, I like it but there are a lot of things that could have been fixed like maybe the villain he is very bad and very forgettable! Otherwise, the movie is one of the worst Marvel movies ever made, but as a character, Jennifer Garner does a unique job in this role and I think she does well. She is much better than the one in Daredevil on NETFLIX. Naturally, Jennifer Garner in Daredevil with Ben Affleck does it even more uniquely, but unfortunately there is no sequel and there won't be. I'm going to see Deadpool & Wolverine on July 26th and I hope she's in, even if it's just a cameo! Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Austin S Just it doesn't add anything to Elektra's character arc and doesn't seem to follow the events of Ben Affleck's Daredevil movie Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/22/24 Full Review Liam W I don’t even know what I just watched. If you thought Daredevil was messy, wait till you see Elektra. Now there were times where I had the slightest bit of entertainment value, but it gets ruined by cutting away to something else. It’s not like the acting is terrible, but I didn’t understand what was going on half the time, and the characters didn’t help with that at all. Right from the get go this movie was a jumbled mess. This movie doesn’t have any basic storytelling structure! There was no climax, there was no resolution, there wasn’t even really a theme. I thought that the first Daredevil was pretty bad, but seeing how bad this is made me realize how fortunate I was when watching Daredevil, not having to sit through Elektra. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review stephen b Take away the red outfit at the beginning and end of the movie, and you wouldn't realize it was a Marvel movie. Which in a way may have made it better than it should have been. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/15/24 Full Review matthias s "Elektra" is a painfully flat and soulless film that falls laughably short of its comic book roots. Jennifer Garner’s acting is shockingly bad; her performance as Elektra is wooden and emotionless, making it hard to root for her. Abby, the supposed victim, is incredibly annoying, to the point where I found myself disliking her more than the villains. The film is a dreary slog with underdeveloped characters and an absurd lack of action for an action movie. Terence Stamp as Stick is a rare highlight, delivering a performance that is both decent and comic-accurate. However, his efforts are wasted in this dull, uninspired spinoff that no one asked for. The storyline is boring and unengaging, leaving little to no impression. In short, "Elektra" is a misfire that fails to capture the essence of the comics and offers nothing but disappointment. Skip this one; it's not worth the time. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/03/24 Full Review Read all reviews
